This document accompanies version 1.2 of the settings file for this BBS.
In order to get the settings file to connect properly, you will need to do a couple of things. First off, you will have to have both the settings file and the client software itself. The client software is universally used for all FirstClass (FC) bbs systems, but the settings file contains information specific to the BBS that you are calling. What you will want to do is follow these simple steps to get your settings file configured properly:
1) Double-Click on the settings file.
2) Press the 'Set up...' button.
3) Enter your User ID and password.*
4) Click on the 'Edit' button.
5) Configure the settings to your modem if necessary. If you just have a standard modem, or your modem isn't listed in the available types, stick with the regular Hayes™ settings.
6) Click on the 'Save' button.
7) If you want the settings file to automatically connect you whenever you double-click on it, click in the logon automatically box.
8) Click on the 'Save' button.
* If you are a new user, just use whatever User ID and password that you would like to use. The system will configure an account for you when you first call in.
Now you're all set... All that you have to do is click on the Logon button.
